Worship
Christian worship gives all glory and honor, praise and thanksgiving to the holy, triune God. We are gathered in worship to glory the God who is present and active among us - particularly through the gifts of Word and Sacrament. We are sent out to serve to glorify the same God who is present and active in the world.
~Book of Order W-1.0101
On a typical Sunday, we have talented musicians and a reflection upon the Word of God. There are times of prayer that direct our hearts to confess the things we have done wrong, offer praise and thanksgiving to God, and hope for the things that are to come. While our service follows a traditional format we are always looking for ways to grow, expand, and have fun while we offer praise to God.
We are triply blessed with gifted ministers, musicians, and by your presence and passion for worship. Come with doubts, come with questions, and come as you are as we journey together on this road of life and faith with one another.

A Typical Sunday Worship Experience
A typical Sunday Worship Service follows a basic structure, found in a bulletin (see the Livestream page for the most current one). On most Sundays, you can expect:
Gathering
Gathering Music to guide and gather the worshipers together in the sanctuary
Pastor’s Greeting and Words of Welcome
Prelude: a time of musical reflection
Call to Worship: a leader calls to the worshipers with scripture, and they answer in kind
A Hymn, typically sung by all worshipers and led by the chancel choir
The Prayer of The Day led by the pastor to open our hearts to confession
A Confession of Sin and Assurance of Pardon spoken by all worshipers
A musical Response to confession
A Time With Young Disciples: a short message meant to help children understand the Word.
At this time, children typically will join the teacher for Sunday School. If you do not wish your child to do so, please discuss with them before children’s time that they should return to their seat with you. Children who go to Sunday School will join their parents in Fellowship Hall after the service.
We Listen for God
A Prayer For Illumination to prepare all who gather to hear the Word of God
The First Scripture Reading
An Anthem given by our talented musicians
The Second Scripture Reading (the primary sermon text)
A Sermon given by the pastor
A Hymn, typically sung by all worshipers and led by the chancel choir
An Affirmation of Faith: all worshipers declare what it is we believe
We Respond to God
Community Connect: a time to welcome all to worship and make announcements such as highlighting events and opportunities to engage with other worshipers
Song of Offering: a time to give back to the Earthly ministry of the church
Musical Offering: a musical gift given by our talented musicians
On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate The Sacrament of Holy Communion with:
An Invitation to the Lord’s Table led by the pastor
Great Prayer of Thanksgiving and the Lord’s Prayer: the pastor calls to the worshipers, and they answer
Words of Institution spoken by the pastor
Communion of The People: as part of pandemic protocols, individually packaged elements can be picked up as you enter the Sanctuary
A shared Prayer after Communion spoken by all worshipers
