Rev. Julia Wright is a Watertown native and almost lifetime member of Watertown First Presbyterian Church (her parents joined when she was 6). She majored in Religious Studies and minored in Music at St. Lawrence University. After graduation she worked as the Christian Coordinator for the Abrahamic Program for Young Adults at the Chautauqua Institution, then was the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, and Web Coordinator at All Saints Catholic Church in Syracuse NY before returning to Watertown to be the Interim Director of Youth Ministry and Christian Education at Watertown FPC. She then attended Princeton Theological Seminary where her Capstone project combined pastoral care of women and processing grief through worship. Following her graduation Julia worked as and was ordained to the role of Admissions Recruiter for the Seminary where she practiced what she called “triage pastoral care and discernment” with potential students. She then moved to Ohio to pursue a fellowship in college ministry at Muskingum University. Following her fellowship Julia stayed at MU for 5 years and finished her time there as University Chaplain. In June 2022 Julia moved back to Watertown with her husband, John, and son Jack. In September of 2023 they welcomed their second son James. Julia and her family love spending time together with their extended family and friends at the family lake house in St. Lawrence County.
